1. (1) New Orleans Saints (7-0). The Saints "only" won a game by single digits for the first time. I guess that's progress for the opposition.
2. (2) Indianapolis Colts (7-0). The Colts offense struggled to put points on the board, but the defense continues to be dominant. The Colts now have the stingiest defense in the NFL.
3. (3) Denver Broncos (6-1). I won't penalize the Broncos too much for that last game. They were due for a letdown and went to a hostile environment against a very good team. The next game against Pittsburgh will show if they are for real.
4. (5) Minnesota Vikings (7-1). The Vikings are winning with offense, scoring more points then anyone except the Saints. Brett Favre is somehow putting up an MVP calibur season.
5. (4) New England Patriots (5-2). Bye
6. (9) Dallas Cowboys (5-2). Things are going good in Big D. But beware, the Cowboys are beating up on weak opposition and lost two of the three games they played against winning teams.
7. (15) Philadelphia Eagles (5-2). The Eagles recent success has made their loss against the Raiders look even more baffling. It's the sole reason they are this low on my rankings.
8. (8) Baltimore Ravens (4-3). The Ravens are better then their record. They have had a brutal schedule and are floating above .500 at the halfway mark.
9. (7) Pittsburgh Steelers (5-2). Bye.
10. (6) Atlanta Falcons (4-3). The Falcons have shown me that they are a pretty good team, but not quite good enough to compete with the big boys yet.
11. (11) Cincinnati Bengals (5-2)
12. (16) Houston Texans (5-3)
13. (12) Green Bay Packers (4-3)
14. (8) New York Giants (5-3)
15. (13) Arizona Cardinals (4-3)
16. (17) San Diego Chargers (4-3)
17. (19) Miami Dolphins (3-4)
18. (18) Chicago Bears (4-3)
19. (14) New York Jets (4-4)
20. (20) San Francisco 49ers (3-4)
21. (24) Carolina Panthers (3-4)
22. (21) Buffalo Bills (3-5)
23. (22) Jacksonville Jaguars (3-4)
24. (23) Seattle Seahawks (2-5)
25. (26) Oakland Raiders (2-6)
26. (25) Kansas City Chiefs (1-7)
27. (27) Washington Redskins (2-5)
28. (28) Detroit Lions (1-6)
29. (31) Tennessee Titans (1-6)
30. (32) St. Louis Rams (1-7)
31. (29) Cleveland Browns (1-7)
32. (30) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-7)
